EGGGGSSSS

3-4-2013 I had an overstock of eggs for some reason (like three dozen in the fridge) so we went ahead and dyed eggs early. I had egg dies from last year, I like to buy the clearance stuff the day after the holiday. Anyway, they had fun with their swirl? eggs.

I did some myself too. You use SILK ties (I got some from DI) and boil it in vinegar and water. The pattern transfers to the egg. Pretty cool huh? It has to be 100% silk though and if you get any creases when you wrap it the egg stays white in the creases, as you can see on my eggs. But hey, this was my first time ever doing it. I think it turned out cool!
.
Here are the eggs wrapped in silk then cotton. Boiled and tada: The first pattern was a little light. You can see where it's blurry or white spots that the tie fabric overlapped or didn't get direct contact to the egg.
