Eli got it into his head this past week that he wanted to go camping. Well, seeing as I don't want my kids to get pneumonia again or to camp in snow with kids...we decided to start a new tradition. We are backyard camping before Christmas!
Stephen put up the tent and we borrowed our neighbors fire pit (Eli specifically asked for hot dogs...) so we could cook over the flames. Stephen was good with helping them.
Eli absolutely loves fire so we just had to make sure he didn't keep playing with the stick. The baby loved it too but was more than happy to let her daddy help her.
Adriana on the other hand really didn't want to get to close to the fire. Eli was very good at explaining how to do it. She got up the courage to do it herself but stood as far away as she could and reached out, it was too far to even cook it but hey, she had fun!
Well, you all might be wondering...did you actually sleep outside in the tent? ARE YOU CRAZY!? It was way too cold. The kids would have been crawling all over me all night. But maybe next year Stephen and I could sleep outside...that would be fun. Get our baby monitor's out? It didn't seem to matter anyway, they had fun just snuggling for a while singing nursery hymns and other fun songs.
